Hello [First Name],
People who have studied with me in my year-long ‘Prosperity Project’ know the theme is ‘small things repeated consistently produce the biggest results in the shortest amount of time’. Recently, people who have taken Financial Grace training, also know that one of my favourite quotes is ‘how you do anything is how you do everything’.
God talks a lot about ‘small things’. In Luke 16:10 He tells us that, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities”.
I think too often we apply a scripture like this to blatant sins like theft or lying and tell ourselves we’re honest people and carry on. When it comes to how we think, however, there are too many statistics of people who come into sudden wealth and end up either losing it, spending it, or giving it away and find themselves in a worse position than when they started. The reason is they are actually still broke in their mind. There is a pattern of thinking that has convinced them they aren’t worthy, or the money won’t last. It’s a twisted poverty thinking with a root of ‘lack’.
Giving money away can sound like holiness, but a false humility from someone who believes themselves not worthy of God’s blessings, or that God’s blessings will run out on them will distort the situation when they have, or receive some sort of surplus.
This is what happens to people who say they are dreaming of greater wealth and end up receiving it, only to find themselves without again in a short amount of time. But, please don’t misinterpret my comment to mean don’t give. And, if the Spirit of God really does tell you to give all your money away, that’s an important decision to be made prayerfully with your spiritual mentors and leaders. God’s plan for giving with a pure heart is the perfect antidote to the spirit of ‘lack’. His plan is for overflowing blessings – not blessings that run right through us.
Prosperity Seeds is a powerful, simple set of exercises to help uncover and replace a root causing a hidden poverty mindset to lay a foundation for a transformed mind, ready to receive, plant, cultivate, harvest and share financial blessings. Sharing of course, means not just giving away so you are left with nothing to plant. When you have a crop, you eat some yourself as well as reseeding for future harvests. 2 Corinthians 9:10 tells us that God gives us ‘bread to eat AND seed for sowing and that He will multiply that seed – not take it away! If He tells us to plant a financial seed, He will multiply that seed. But if the thoughts behind the planting are rooted in anything other than His overflowing goodness, you’re fooling yourself, but not God.
I have known too many broke people with a lot of money. In fact, my journey into the world of finance beyond just managing money began with a client who had several millions, a couple of million-dollar waterfront homes, no debt, a nice family and health pension, who fretted and stewed and stressed about spending more than $2000 per month for fear of running out of money. He and his wife were both well into their 70’s at the time.
I also remember very clearly when I was in my early 20’s and received my first pay cheque that was equivalent to what my annual salary had been not that long before. I was nervous about what my friends and family would think of me if they knew how much money I really was earning. This kind of thinking requires awareness and to be brought to the Lord for healing!
Being honest, begins with yourself, and the zillions of thoughts you have every day! Do you really have the mind of Christ? Are you obedient to take every thought captive? This obviously applies to areas beyond finance, but I know that God has called His people to be the head and not the tail and that finance is satan’s stronghold over the Body of Christ in a large part because we aren’t aware of how our thoughts about money limit our potential to thrive.
Learning strategies is one thing – it’s an important thing! But, it’s useless if it’s not supported with a wealthy mindset that is submitted to the Spirit of God to guide the learning, the actions and ultimately the results!
We break the barriers as we expand our thinking. We expand our thinking as we gather together in Jesus’ name and invite Him into the money discussion!
As I take steps forward with financial grace online, I invite you to invest a small seed of $10 to discover your prosperity seeds – treasures stored in secret places in your mind. If you make that investment in the next 10 days, you will receive a special invitation to attend (or get a replay) an exclusive prosperity brainstorming, creative financial ‘problem-solving’ online discussion group!
You’ll have the opportunity to connect and share if you like, and if you’d rather just listen, then you can do that also because the anointing and wisdom imparted through a multitude gathering in the Name of Jesus to discuss finances is extremely valuable – no matter how much or little money you think you have today. Here’s the link… and please share…because, “as the community prospers, so do you” (see Jeremiah 29:7)!
