I am going to do my best this week to share the message God has burdened me with for so many years in such a way that anyone with ears to hear and eyes to see will recognize how the attitudes of the conventionally accepted approach to finances keeps them and others in bondage. Here’s an example of what I mean: I’ll offer to chat with someone (at no charge to them), and I’ll get met with an ‘I’m already doing that’, or ‘I know about all that’ or ‘there’s nothing I can do – I just need more money then I’ll decide what to do with it’.
Some of my favourite (not really) responses are the boastful responses about someone has no debt (often except for their mortgage which seems to be not included in a debt category). These are often followed up by comments about how frustrating it is that the banks are always trying to increase their credit and they want a way to stop! These responses indicate a roadblock and affirm the influence of a spirit of control and poverty – yes, I said poverty! Poverty assumes it knows the best and only way to do something, or that options are limited! We triumph over money in community, and through increase – not by decrease, or by ourselves!!
None of us have all the answers and God’s Word tells us the benefits of a multitude of counsellors (Proverbs 15:22). This is the week I expect anyone with ears to hear and eyes to see to receive financial breakthrough, in part because the walls that have imprisoned our culture are being shaken and people are waking up to the possibility that maybe, just maybe they could learn some new and creative ways of earning, accessing, managing, sharing, increasing and maintaining the finances that flows through their life!
The ‘sales tactics’ of our banking industry are in the news which should be a wake up to people that our financial industry is just that. ‘an industry’ just like any other retail or service business. It exists to earn a profit. The key, for finances, however, is that the industry determines the financial education of it’s representatives as well as regulates the information that is delivered to the population as a whole. This means, of course, that what we have accepted as a culture with regards to the day-to-day financial systems and strategies we employ are likely not operating synergistically with God’s Word! There is always room for improvement that begins with an openness to listen and learn and share other perspectives.
This is risky, however, because Satan has built mindsets that make people feel intimidated to ask or admit they might not have all the answers when it comes to money. But seriously… almost no one in the last couple generations has any formal financial education. This means they don’t know what they don’t know so the majority of decisions are made based on hearsay, simplistic, or blind faith knowledge! For example, making decisions with interest rate, fees or taxes as the primary feature are always going to be misinformed, usually because not all interest rates operate the same, and the other features that aren’t the emphasis of a decision making process are always more important because the rate discussion focuses on fear, doubt and lack and God isn’t in any of those!
You are heir to THE BLESSING! Read Deuteronomy 28:1-14, inserting your own name in the scriptures, and declare the many blessings that are yours through Christ (Galatians 3:13-14).
“Thank You, Father, for giving me prosperity in every area of my life. I commit to listening to Your voice and digging into Your Word. No matter what it looks like right now, I believe I have more than enough! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“Father, I thank You that I am an heir to THE BLESSING! I choose life today. I choose to be a conduit for what You want to do in this world. Thank You for Your Word and the many blessings that are mine. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
“Father, according to Your Word, I stand in unshakable faith, based on Your Word, ready to receive from You. I am a tither and a giver. Thank You for providing exceeding abundantly above all that I could ask or think. Thank You that You meet all my needs according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus and for multiplying my seed sown so that I may give into every good work. In Jesus’ Name. Amen!
“Father, Your Word says that He who ministers seed to the sower both ministers bread for my food and multiplies my seed sown and increases the fruits of my righteousness. Therefore, I am enriched in everything to all bountifulness, which causes through us thanksgiving to God. I thank You for it, Lord. I stand on Mark 4:23 which says, ‘If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.’ So I make the decision right now to receive. I will receive. I will do all the things necessary. I will plant—I am planting now. I put the sickle to the harvest. My confession is on the Word. My confession is by faith. In Jesus’ Name, I receive now by faith the hundredfold return on this seed that is in my hand. I do this in obedience to the Word. And, Satan, in the Name of Jesus, I rebuke you. You are the persecutor. Take your hands off my money! This is not your seed. It is not your land. It is mine and God’s. Stay out of my garden! Stay off my farm, for the harvest is mine! Lord Jesus, I plant this seed into ________ (ministry or church) and believe in its return because You said it. I dedicate it to Your service, to Your affairs, in Jesus’ Name. It will be as the loaves and fishes when You used the hundredfold principle to feed the people. Amen!”
